Overly taxed by the previous battle, Shae faints and Captain Russo offers to take her outside and leave her in the care of his guards. The party continues its exploration of the mansion into the Hallway of Scholars which is filled with statues of famous fey intellectuals including Ketham Lorekeeper, their former WAGER companion. Another statue, that of Ansris Arii, has an opened palm filled with blood dripping from above, and Eldin Thertylian, the primary backer of WAGER, looking into the darkness above.

The party ventures into a room behind closed doors, each of which bears the symbol of the Celebarim royal house, a three-pointed crown. In the room the party battles a handful of skeletons, discover a lifeless female human body and a magical dagger while Rowlfwicke watchfully observes the statues in the hallway. Returning to the hallway they notice the statues have moved ever so slightly and find a body on the floor near the statue of Ansris.

The heroes then explore the mansion's library and Simmah takes a magical index scroll before battling a couple of giant bats. The heroes return to the grand hall where they now notice an upright piano on the far wall and an fey child spirit playing a song. Lira attempts to repeat the melody but finds the piano broken and out of tune.

The Awakened then enter a training room where they are again attacked by zombies. At the conclusion of the fight, they find the body of Captain Russo. After close examination, they discover that the captain has been dead for a couple of days. After checking outside that Shae is safe and that time is flowing naturally in the mansion, they return to the Hallway of Heroes and are attacked by a four animated statues with the resemblences of Aelasyl and Eladin Thertylian, Ohtarael Firatria and Néshira, as they try to entire another bedroom.
