Episode 2 - Tomb of Moving Stones

Summary

The adventurers explore the Tomb of Moving Stones and discover three corpses with a mysterious symbol carved into the skulls. The free a boy, Braelen Dornen, from a cruel punishment being placed under boulders and starved by The Believers, which include his father, Elak Dornen, as their unofficial leader. Grund, a half-orc in the service of The Believers, attacks the adventurers as they free the boy and is killed. The adventurers question the boy and interrogate a member of The Believers, Baragustas Harbuckler. They kill a recent advisor to The Believers, Larrakh, and a group of men called the Bringers of Woe. The adventurers meet with Harburk Tuthmarillar, the town constable, and turn over Baragustas who in turn provides testimony that the other members of The Believers killed three travelers. These murders were prompted by Larrakh's interpretation of the Delvers' message in the Tomb of Moving Stones.

Satisfied with Harburk's control of the situation, the adventurers travel to Beliard. During their three day journey, the note a few aerial knights in blue armor and white cloaks riding giant vultures. The trip is otherwise uneventful. They arrange for a meeting with Halrud Ponden, the townmaster and lawkeeper, at the Watchful Knight. While Halrud is willing to acknowledge the presence and departure of the Mirabar Delegation, he is less forthcoming with specifics about their mission. Frustrated by his stonewalling, Hattie casts charm person on the townmaster, and he divulges that the delegation was warning the towns of a great evil that is lurking locked in the dwarven ruins beneath the Dessarin Valley.
